Frames containing recycled raw materials

The Fielmann Group is working to reduce the environmental impact of its products and to take environmental and social requirements into account throughout its supply chains. As part of these efforts, we are expanding our range of frames made using recycled raw materials.

Since 2022, we have offered elementra, our own collection with an allocated share of recycled plastics. The frames in this collection are ISCC certified. Under the mass balance approach, 27% of the plastic used in their production is attributed to recycled raw materials.*

* Under the mass balance approach, recycled and conventional raw materials are processed together during manufacturing. The certified recycled content is allocated to the respective products on an accounting basis. It therefore does not necessarily mean that each individual frame physically contains 27% recycled material.

ISCC certified

The elementra frames are ISCC certified. ISCC stands for “International Sustainability and Carbon Certification”. The ISCC certification system enables the quantities of raw materials used to be documented throughout the supply chain and allocated to specific products on an accounting basis.

For our elementra frames, the certification confirms an allocated share of 27% recycled plastics based on the mass balance approach. Under this approach, recycled and conventional raw materials can be processed together during manufacturing. The stated share is therefore not necessarily physically contained in each individual frame.
