Fielmann democratised eyewear fashion and became market leader thanks to its customer-friendly services, fashionable eyewear at fair prices and comprehensive services. Günther Fielmann now withdraws from the executive board and passes over the leadership to the second generation.
This step is the result of Günther Fielmann's long-term succession plan. With the introduction of a Co-CEO structure in April 2018, his son Marc Fielmann already held the executive leadership of the company. In February 2019, Günther Fielmann additionally transferred the responsibility for the corporate strategy.
Prior to the upcoming Supervisory Board Meeting Günther Fielmann announced that he would like to resign as Chief Executive Officer. At its meeting on 21 November 2019, the Supervisory Board of Fielmann AG acknowledged Günther Fielmann's lifetime achievements and extended its gratitude for his dedicated commitment. The Supervisory Board unanimously agreed to the amicable termination of the contract.
